Designed by Ela Cindoruk 'Five in One' is a type of accessory that is used in some regions of Anatolia, particularly in rural areas, and bears economical value. This object, traditionally given as gift at celebrations such as weddings and circumcisions, comes in two different forms: one where five whole gold coins are tied to a red ribbon, and one where five gold coins are compounded as one (called 'beşi birlik' in Turkish ) and tied, again, to a red ribbon.

Ela’s starting point in this project was to design an object that allowed for the usage of both forms of 'besi birlik', be it as several pieces or one whole. A new type of Five in One from which you can break one piece to sell or give as gift, and still continue to keep or carry the rest... A type of coin that is valid anytime and anywhere because it is made of 995 carat fine gold...

The ‘Five in One’ received a Red Dot “Honourable Mention 2012” due to its particularly successful detail solution.
